Getting the best out of your translations from Cicero

We ensure our translations are accurate and idiomatic. But we often find that when they are published in a brochure or uploaded to a website, errors have crept in. These spoil the result and give our clients a poor image—just what they did not intend.

Here are a few actual examples we have come across:

• Missing accents and hyphens
• Incorrect use of capital and small initial letters e.g. on a website menu
• Long words split at the end of a line in the wrong place
• Asian language website pages not optimised for common screens and browsers
• Paragraphs missed out altogether
• Wrong font
• Arabic website with text running left to right
• Brochure in one language bound in cover translated into a different language, and vice-versa

We also come across cases where clients have invested time and money in getting their website translated and then almost hidden the result by advertising the translations with a notice in English only reading 'In your language'.
