Michelle is head of our project management team. She joined Cicero Translations in 1998 and has a wealth of experience in helping our clients with their translations requirements. She speaks good everyday French and is learning Arabic. Before working at Cicero, Michelle worked as a typesetter, editor and proofreader. She is very experienced in this field, so much so that she is often referred to as the “formatting queen” at Cicero – there isn’t an editing job that Michelle cannot handle!
Since 2008, Michelle has been practising yoga and has been a qualified yoga teacher since 2016. When she is not teaching yoga, she likes to listen to live music at venues across the South-East. Michelle lives by the sea and loves to go for walks along the prom and have a beer on the pier with friends.
Miranda has an MA from the University of Westminster in Specialised Translation. Her languages are Spanish and Portuguese which she studied at the Universities of Nottingham, Salamanca, Spain and Porto, Portugal. She is particularly interested in Spanish history and based her dissertation and MA thesis on the subject.
Miranda’s working career before she joined us was entirely devoted to helping clients, which is what we at Cicero Translations strive to be all about. If you have any questions about the technical aspects of translation, Miranda will be delighted to advise.
Alongside her interest in languages Miranda enjoys making music and is a member of the Tunbridge Wells Choral Society, as well as playing the piano and bassoon. She is a fan of local history and heritage, and has volunteered as a guide for the National Trust.
Yuliya was born in Kazakhstan where she earned two BAs: one in teaching English and German as foreign languages, and the other in finance. In 2012 Yuliya got an International English teaching CELTA certificate in London where she fell in love with its unique architecture and in 2015 she moved to Kent, the garden of England.
Having been working in the customer service industry since July 2016, Yuliya has always enjoyed helping people, trying to find the best solutions as quickly as possible in order to resolve customers’ needs and is an important member of our project management team.
Yuliya speaks fluent Russian and is working to perfect her German language. In her free time, she likes reading fiction books, going for long walks in the English countryside and playing the keyboard.
Paul has a joint languages degree in French and Spanish after studying at the University of Kent, along with a postgraduate degree in Teaching.
Having spent time working in Castilla-La-Mancha, Spain, as an English language assistant for the British Council, Paul then went on to work as a qualified secondary school language teacher in Kent. His passion for languages has always followed him throughout his career, which has seen him take on roles not only in the Education industry, but also within the world of customer service, eCommerce and project management.
Paul has a keen passion for travelling, having explored many different countries and cultures all over the world, and loves being able to discuss all things related to language, linguistics and translation. His eye for detail and love of organisation (and Post-It notes!) means he is always happy to discuss any query or question you may have with any project, no matter how big or small.
The founder of Cicero Translations, Paul has spent over 40 years in international trade, living and working in countries ranging from Japan to Brazil. In owning a thriving translation company (and a language school previously), Paul’s extensive experience in international business, coupled with an understanding of the importance of language, has been key to ensuring that Cicero Translations provides a fast, high-quality service. Paul is always ready to offer professional tips to prospective clients and fellow business owners, as well as being available to give personal guidance and support to the staff at Cicero.
When Paul is not working hard, he likes to keep active and is never too far away from his beloved bicycle. As well as cycling on a near-daily basis, he is an avid long-distance walker who also finds the time for a round of golf. His love of the natural world also extends to his own garden, where he can often be found looking after his vegetables and spending time with his family.
Feel free to give us a call or send over an e-mail and one of our team will advise you on whatever it is you need.
